If you forgot what a real singer sounded like, the Queen of Soul herself reminded everyone on Tuesday night’s (Dec 29) broadcast of the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors on CBS.

Decked in a luxurious fur, Aretha Franklin sat at a piano on stage and performed Carole King’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” for a packed auditorium at the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, D.C. She blew everyone away — including King, an honoree.

Franklin felt the performance so much she stepped away from the piano, took off her fur and brought the house down with one of her best performances of the song in the many years in which she has covered it. The performance was so moving, President Barack Obama is even seen wiping tears from his eyes.
