In addition to Solange being honored with the ‘Rock Star Award’ and Congresswoman Maxine Waters and her epic speech, ‘Insecure‘ creator and star, Issa Rae was also honored at the annual BET ‘Black Girls Rock 2017‘ which aired Tuesday night.

The star was presented the award by her on screen beau, Jay Ellis, and she delivered an amazing self reflective speech to young girls on knowing and acknowledging their strengths, weaknesses, self worth and acceptance. Get into it comical but honest speech below.
