Bethenny Frankel and NeNe Leakes are sitting down for their first public discussion surrounding their issues with Andy Cohen, Bravo/NBCUniversal, and their recent legal action and complaints they’ve filed against the powerhouse ensemble.
NeNe joined Bethenny on her ‘Just B with Bethenny Frankel‘ podcast which dropped late Thursday night (Sep. 28) to dish on her upbringing, rise to fame with her time on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ and had a real candid conversation regarding her experience as a black woman on the Bravo network versus Bethenny’s as a white woman.
During the visit which is broken down into two parts, the duo discusses their respective complaints against the network, their personal relationships with Cohen (or lack thereof), the alleged favoritism he showed, and competitive behavior amongst housewives that he reportedly encouraged.
NeNe also dishes more on “being phased out” of RHOA after she brought attention to some of the disparities the Atlanta cast experienced versus their white counterparts and revealing that she asked for “fair treatment” which fell on deaf ears.
She also says that she was iced out after producers met with her and encouraged her to “get” her castmate, Kandi Burruss, as they allegedly wanted another NeNe vs. Kandi season toward the end of NeNe’s time on the show. NeNe says after she told them she did not want to do that, she began to feel the phase-out.
Bethenny also opens up about her personal issues with not just Andy, but the network and how her complaints have been heard and seemingly addressed over NeNe’s because she is white. She also dishes on her attempts to previously reach out to networks to pitch a show for her and NeNe years ago and kept getting shut down and told by networks that they couldn’t “touch it”–seemingly confirming NeNe’s blackballed claims.
Get into parts 1 and 2 below as well as some bonus content and shares from NeNe and Bethenny.
