Over the weekend news broke that Nene Leakes‘ son Brentt Leakes suffered a stroke and heart attack due to congestive heart failure about two weeks ago and has been recovering ever since.
The news arrived on Sunday, which prompted the former ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star to take to social media to clear up the rumors which included that her 23-year-old son may have suffered the medical emergency due to drug use.
In a video shared on her Instagram, NeNe says her son doesn’t drink or do drugs and confirmed that doctors have run a variety of tests in order to determine what caused the episode including tests for HIV and drugs.
Unfortunately, the doctors have still been able to determine the cause but NeNe revealed that he is recovering but still having trouble speaking.
In her video, NeNe also revealed plans to sell her popular Duluth, GA-based Linnethia Lounge. NeNe revealed that she and Brentt ran the lounge together following the passing of her late husband, Gregg Leakes last year but due to the current stress of assisting Brentt with his recovery, she can’t devote the time to the lounge as she once could.
