It’s official!
Neve Campbell confirmed on Tuesday (Mar. 12) that she will return as Sidney Prescott for the next film in the ‘Scream’ franchise.
She announced via her official Instagram page that the film known only as ‘Scream 7’ will be directed by original ‘Scream‘ writer Kevin Williamson from a script penned by Guy Busick.
As fans know, Campbell did not appear in last year’s sixth movie of the franchise because of a pay dispute. Her last appearance was 2022’s ‘Scream,’ which served as a franchise reboot and the fifth film in the series.
She had previously teased this past January that she wouldn’t rule out returning to the role for the right price.
The news of her return comes amid ongoing drama behind the project in recent months including recent star Melissa Barrera being let go because of comments she made on social media about the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Jenna Ortega later left the project due to scheduling reasons.
