Rihanna is back!
After an extensive break from music, the global superstar revealed earlier this week that she would be releasing her first new song since 2016 via the inspirational track ‘Lift Me Up’ pulled from the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack.
After teasing a snippet of the song, and unveiling the cover artwork on Thursday, the full song officially arrived on Friday (Oct. 28).
The track which is in honor of the late Chadwick Boseman, who died in August 2020, is the lead song from the upcoming highly-anticipated film. The song was co-written by Riri, Tems, Ludwig Göransson, and the film’s director Ryan Coogler.
No need to wait any longer, get into it below.
The soundtrack officially titled, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Music From and Inspired By’ will also feature a second song from Rihanna, and will be released on her own label Westbury Road in partnership with Roc Nation, Def Jam, and Hollywood Records.
The album arrives Nov 4.
The new song is the first taste of Rihanna’s long-awaited comeback as she is set to headline the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show in February, and reportedly go out on tour next year while fans await news on the release of her ninth studio album.
