Fresh off of a long labor day weekend, everyone heads back to work or school, and what better way to do so than with some new hot music. Set to hit the shelves and digitally today are three artist vying for your sales and all three are sure must haves.
Tamar Braxton ‘Love And War
The youngest Braxton and reality breakout star is finally releasing her long overdue and highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Love And War’. The album features the hit single ‘The One’ as well as its predecessor the #1 single and title track ‘Love And War’. Braxton just filmed the video for her third single and fan favorite ‘Hot Sugar’ you can view a brief on set teaser of that HERE. With the return of her spin off ‘Tamar & Vince’ returning for a second season this week, ‘Braxton Family Values‘ set to return this winter, and mumblings of her daytime talk show ‘The Real’ being picked up it appears all the stars have finally aligned for Tamar this time around.
Ariana Grande ‘Yours Truly’
Former Nickelodeon and rising sensation Ariana Grande is set to release her debut album ‘Your’s Truly’ which features the certified platinum hit ‘The Way’(feat. Mac Miller), and the current smash single ‘Baby I’. Many may not be familiar with Grande but the 20 year old is on course to change that. The singer who boast a four octave range, has drawn many vocal comparisons to Mariah Carey and is quickly gaining a following because of her amazing range and refreshing vocal ability at such a young age. With production from the likes of Babyface and features from Big Sean, the album is definitely aiming at the urban/pop audiences, as opposed to her initial core fan base. I for one have been sold from the moment I heard the debut single, and strongly suggest giving this album a listen.
John Legend ‘Love In The Future’
R&B crooner John Legend is back with his fourth studio album ‘Love In The Future’ which is preceded by the singles ‘Who Do We Think We Are‘(feat. Rick Ross), ‘Made To Love’ & ‘All Of Me’. The album features production by Hit-Boy, Bink, 88 Keys, the Runners, Doc McKinney, Q-Tip, is executive produced by none other than Kanye West and has appearances by Stacy Barthe, Rick Ross and Seal. The set is receiving overall critical acclaim and praise for its sonic and heavy sound. The set even features a cover of Anita Baker’s classic ‘Angel’. As a fan of Legend’s full catalog I am sure this album will make its way into heavy rotation on many a playlist. The standard version features 16 tracks, while the deluxe features a full 20 tracks, well worth the money.
Other albums dropping today are Raheem DeVaughn ‘Love Land’ and Jaheim ‘Appreciation Day’
