Niecy Nash-Betts was already a daytime EMMY winner, and now following Monday’s 2024 (75th Annual) EMMYs, she is a Primetime EMMY winner as well.

The actress took home the win for her mind-blowing performance as “Glenda” in Netflix’s ‘Monster: the Jeffrey Dahmer Story‘ in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

Niecy beat out her fellow nominees Annaleigh Ashford, Maria Bello, Claire Danes, Juliette Lewis, Camila Morrone, and Merritt Weaver and now joins a short list of esteemed black actresses to take home the honor.

She now joins the likes of Regina King, Esther Rolle, and Cicely Tyson who were previous winners of the honor, and she used her acceptance speech to honor black women who have gone “unheard yet over-policed.”
