Singer Jaguar Wright, went viral last week after an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, making several damaging claims against power couple, Jay-Z and Beyonce.
Now, their legal team has stepped in, denouncing the comments as “totally false” and “without any basis in fact,” and Piers Morgan has issued a public apology.
During the interview, Wright, known to make salacious allegations against other celebs, targeted the famous couple while discussing Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles. She claimed the couple were involved in abusive behaviors and suggested that alleged victims were willing to testify.
Wright accused the Carters of having “victims” that they held against their will and she made other unfounded claims that they played a part in the death of the late singer Aaliyah.
“They’re a nasty little couple. They do nasty things,” Wright said.
Welp, days later, Morgan returned to his show on Tuesday evening to apologize to the couple and explain that the accusations had now been removed from the broadcast after hearing from the couple’s lawyers.
“Their lawyers contacted us to say that those claims were totally false and have no basis in fact,” Morgan clarified. “We therefore complied with the legal request to cut them from the original interview. Editing interviews is not something we do lightly on a show called Uncensored, but like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theatre, there are legal limits on us, too. We apologize to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.”
