She’s coming!
Back in early 2020, Janet Jackson sent her fans into a frenzy when she announced that she was releasing a new album titled ‘Black Diamond’ and going on an accompanying tour of the same name, both due that year. As with most things, the album and tour were both put on hold due to the pandemic and fans haven’t heard much since.
The iconic performer has been sharing recent studio snaps on Instagram, teasing fans that she is back in the lab and new music is coming. Now on Tuesday, there are reports that the living legend and icon is gearing back up to release the new project and her single is reportedly set to drop during the fourth quarter.
According to reports, Janet didn’t reveal many details about the forthcoming album, but she did give fans a glimpse at the production credits from the project. Janet will be reuniting will longtime collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, as well as Darrel Randle, Ralph Johnson (a founding member of Earth, Wind & Fire), Siedah Garret, and Marcel East for her 12th studio album.
Garrett, previously co-wrote Janet’s brother Michael‘s hit ‘Man in the Mirror’ and duetted with him on ‘I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.’
The news comes just days after the teaser was dropped for her upcoming two-night, four-hour documentary titled ‘JANET’ which will premiere in January 2022 on Lifetime and A&E.
