It looks like the drama between ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac‘ stars Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard is getting even messier.
Just weeks ago, it was rumored that the ladies had a physical altercation while filming for their upcoming fifth season. The altercation took place during an event that was being filmed on Oct. 16 and reportedly started when Candiace allegedly threw a drink at Monique, prompting Monique to grab Candiace by her hair and began to assault her.
The reports were confirmed earlier this month when it was revealed that Candiace filed charges against Monique in Montgomery County courts in Maryland as we previously told you.
Now things have gotten even messier as Monique has also filed her own charges against Candiace. On Nov. 14 Monique filed her own criminal complaint with the Montgomery County courts for the abuse she suffered at the hands of Candiace.
Candiace was charged with second-degree assault — issued a summons — and is now scheduled to appear in court on the same day as Monique, Dec. 23.
Monique’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden released a statement.
“If this event occurred during taping of the show, I am confident that the video will bear all of this out. My client has every right to file for a counter criminal summons, as well, and will consider doing so, while fully defending herself in this action that has been filed with the Court,” Bolden told PEOPLE. “Either way, I am confident that she will prevail on this matter. Going forward, we hope that Ms. Dillard seeks the help she needs to avoid creating these kinds of unsafe and unfortunate circumstances in and outside of the workplace.”
Candiace’s attorney, James L. Walker, Jr. also issued a statement as well on the mater.
“At this time, we do not want to say too much and just allow the criminal process to play out. We only ask everyone to pray for our client Candiace and her family,” Walker said. “The physical assault, humiliation and emotional distress have all been very painful and difficult for Candiace, as it would be for anyone attacked so viciously,” he continued. “We also pray that Monique will get some help,” said Walker. “The summons to court charge of Second Degree Assault is just one step below first-degree assault and must be taken very seriously. This behavior has no place in our society.” He concluded with, “Everyone respect the privacy of the parties and allow the Montgomery County District Court to exercise its duty here to protect victims like Candiace.”
As if that wasn’t enough drama, Candiace took to social media on Friday (Nov. 15) to reveal that an appearance she was slated to make in D.C. was canceled–according to her, at the hands of Monique.
Get into the post below.
According to Candiace, a woman who she tagged in the post, who apparently works for the Entertainment and Sports Arena, fulfilled “a personal vendetta over one’s own indiscretions” by listening to Monique (who she seemingly is friends with) by canceling her performance.
Monique then took to social media as well to clap back at the claims, and even threatened to throw more charges at Candiace.
Seriously? Boo boo you are not, never was and will never be that important to me. People with no REAL responsibilities crack me up!!! As if I have time to care about your failed attempts at being booked. You’re laughable. Keep showing the world how obsessed you are 🙄 #rhop pic.twitter.com/VDz8Q42Qk6
