Reality Check: There Will NOT Be a Season 5 Basketball Wives Reunion! Evelyn Lozada Pulled Out

BBW5

Well it looks like the ship really is sinking! It’s been a rocky road for ‘Basketball Wives’ season 5, and 4 if you get technical. The ladies return this past season was greeted with mixed reviews, mostly from many one time fans saying they were not checking for a new season, but of course they were watching. Once the show kicked off, fans were displeased with what they were seeing, citing forced and contrived scenes, while the cast members, mostly Tami Roman cited frustration with being portrayed as a bully yet once again due to producers.

We showed you HERE Tami as she took to her blog to rant and declared that on the reunion show, the producers (specifically Shaunie) as well as the other cast mates would be addressed for their shady tactics. Well it looks like Tami won’t have that chance, as there will be no reunion show. TMZ is reporting:

The show was supposed to tape earlier this month — but sources close to production tell us, Evelyn bailed, forcing producers to pull the plug on the entire thing. We’re told the taping will not be rescheduled.

According to sources, Evelyn jumped ship because she’s sick and tired of talking about her split from ex-husband Chad Johnson. We’re told she knew the break-up would be the biggest topic on the reunion show, so she refused to participate.

Apparently, the other ‘Wives’ (specifically Tami, Tasha, and Suzie) have zilch to talk about — we’re told producers felt the girls didn’t have enough material for the hour-long episode sans Ev.

Well, we can’t say we’re surprised, considering that Evelyn as well as Tami have already publicly stated that they were over the BBW train and are working on getting their own spin off shows. No word on how fans will favor those efforts, but good luck to them. Well if you missed the last episode of BBW catch up on it now, it may be the last episode of the ladies you will see in a long time!

Update: According to Evelyn’s publicist who has issued a statement, the rumors that the reunion was cancelled due to her pulling out are “absolutely true”. Apparently Evelyn also is tired of the negative drama that the show brings, particularly the reunions and she is over it!
