The music industry was stunned to hear the news just days ago that legendary music executive Andre Harrell, who discovered a young Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, founded Uptown Records, among other major accolades–had passed away suddenly at the age of 59.
Andre died on Thursday night at his home in West Hollywood, Calif. and his wife confirmed that his cause of death was heart failure.
Many of Andre’s friends, family, and peers took to social media immediately to grieve, share their personal stories, thoughts, and condolences. It wasn’t until Monday that Diddy aka Puffy, took to social media to react to the shocking news.
For those who have followed the history, Andre was not only a mentor to Puff, as he discovered him and brought him to the world, but also like a father as they continued their personal and business relationship until Andre’s death.
