Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, and Soulja Boy are receiving an immense amount of backlash this weekend after it was revealed they would be performing as featured acts as part of the inauguration activities for Donald Trump.
Now, all of them except Rick Ross, have taken to social media to react to the backlash, and are standing ten toes down on their respective decisions.
After their names were announced ahead of the weekend, the backlash really kicked off after footage of Snoop Dogg performing and posing with MAGA supporters at the first-ever “Crypto Ball” on Friday night made its rounds.
Nelly is scheduled for the official Inaugural Liberty Ball on Monday, while Soulja Boy was part of the Crypto Ball.
Speaking with Willie D during a live-streamed interview, Nelly not only defended his actions but defended Trump and said he did it out of respect for “the office.”
When quizzed on why he would perform for a well-documented “white supremacist,” Nelly says “show him the proof.”

Meanwhile, Soulja Boy also took to social media to defend his actions while revealing that despite being “50/50” on his decision to perform, he chose to because he “has bills” and “needed the bag.”
He revealed he was compensated while showing off a stack of money, while saying he was contacted by Kamala Harris, or Barack Obama during their respective campaigns.
As far as Snoop, he has yet to address the backlash he’s receiving online including a past video of him resurfacing where he denounced Trump and anyone who performs for him during his last election.
While Snoop hasn’t said anything as of yet, he did take to social media to share the following image.
Rick Ross has yet to address his backlash, but has been heavily active on social media in his stories. Stay tuned.
