Fans of living legends Anita Baker and Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds were UBER excited when it was announced that the two R&B titans would be heading out on the road together this year.
Anita’s ‘The Songstress Tour’ was announced months ago, and kicked off in February with Babyface as her special guest opening up the show.
While dates have been spaced out months at a time, the trek approached its official fourth stop on the road on Wednesday night as the two were set to perform in Newark, NJ at The Prudential Center.
However, things apparently took a turn on Wednesday night that left Babyface not able to perform, and paying fans furious with the R&B diva.
Babyface took to his Instagram stories and post revealing that he was not allowed to perform on Wednesday per Ms. Baker and her team. Babyface apologized to fans for not being able to deliver the show as promised, and seemingly put the blame on Baker.

Fans and celebrity friends alike instantly took to the comments in support of Babyface and called out Ms. Baker’s history of alleged diva behavior.
One of those people who also took time to address the matter and seemingly has not had the best experience with Ms. Baker, was fellow living legend, Stephanie Mills.
Ms. Mills also shared the post on her social media pages including Facebook which saw the conversation continue surrounding Baker’s alleged history of bad behavior.
Fans in her comments also recalled an infamous tour that Baker did with Luther Vandross in the 80s that saw a similar string of antics on her part.
No word from Ms. Baker or her team on the matter yet.
I don’t get how come baby face didn’t get to perform because all I can remember is Anita Baker’s old song which I love but baby face is fresher and newer
