Tabitha Brown has officially released a statement following the recent announcements of Target and Walmart‘s DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) rollbacks this week.
As widely reported, the mega-retailers all announced their plans to rollback their initiatives and programs surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as a result of guidance suggested by Donald Trump.
Brown has partnerships with both retail chains, as well as Amazon, where her products—including kitchenware, seasonings, and more—are sold.
On Saturday night (January 25), she addressed the “disheartening” news and the ongoing discussions within the community about potentially boycotting these retailers.
Tabitha expressed her understanding of and support for anyone’s decision to boycott.
However, she emphasized the importance of approaching such actions in a way that does not harm the minority-owned businesses that rely on being featured on the shelves of these retailers.
