Taraji P. Henson may be having a rough few weeks following her recent declarations about herself and other black women in Hollywood still battling pay disparity issues.
However, on Thursday the veteran actress resumed her promotional rounds for ‘The Color Purple’ by stopping at ‘The Talk’ at CBS, and the visit literally brought her to tears.
While Taraji came to speak on the movie, choosing between acting over music, what it meant to have music come back into her life during ‘The Color Purple.,’ and more–she barely made it on the stage before the crowd erupted into applause and a standing ovation.
She also used the opportunity to dismiss the conversations that there is tension with her and Oprah Winfrey following her statements around pay disparity, by thanking Oprah for using her voice and power to fix the issues that Taraji addressed.
