Last week, the entertainment world lost one of its greats, Quincy Jones.
The music titan brought us some amazing music from the likes of Michael Jackson and acts such as Tamia and Tevin Campbell.
When the news broke, music junkies and historians took to social media wondering if Campbell would react to the news as Jones served as his mentor for a large portion of his career.
Jones discovered Campbell at age 12 when he performed “Tomorrow” from Annie at a concert. This led to a recording contract with Qwest Records.
While the R&B crooner took to his social media accounts days ago to react to the news, he returned back to social media on his birthday (Nov. 12) to share more love for Quincy.
I miss Q so much. I am so honored and blessed to be apart of his incredible legacy. I was 12yo!! Haven’t tweeted anything until now because I am literally still grieving.

My whole family is blessed to have known him. He was such a great soul, inspiration. Such a great man. Tweets like this used to seem so corny to me…but in this case it’s as right as rain.

He also responded to a fan who questioned his timing to respond to the loss.
I don’t feel like I owe social media anything and I grieve in my own way how’s about saying happy birthday 😂 https://t.co/bWMnIwnyTu

They circled back and made it right afterward.
