After years of tension, and bad blood, Will Smith and Janet Hubert, the actress who played the original Aunt Viv on ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘ have reunited.
Anyone who has followed the history knows that Janet played Aunt Viv from Seasons 1-3 of the show in 1990-1993.
Hubert was controversially replaced with Daphne Maxwell Reid in 1993, who remained as Aunt Viv from season 4 to the series finale. According to reports, Hubert’s pregnancy at the time was a violation of her contract, which resulted in her termination at the end of season 3.
Hubert has gone on record publicly many times to express her disdain for her termination, and has specifically taken aim at Will in various social media posts, interviews, and other platforms.
Well now, it appears the decades long feud is finally over and the bad blood is behind them.
On Thursday night, Smith took to Instagram to share a snap of him and the cast of the show from the recently announced 30-year anniversary reunion special that will air on HBO Max this Thanksgiving.
Along with the snap of him and the cast who filmed it today, he shared an additional shot of him and Hubert reunited on the set as well and confirmed that she indeed will be part of the long-awaited “real Banks family reunion” as he called it.
