Over the weekend, R&B crooner August Alsina sent fans into a panic when he revealed that he had some sort of “disease” that was taking over his life, and fans instantly began speculating what it could be.
Well now the singer is revealing what that disease is in a new sit down interview with actress Jada Pinkett-Smith. In a clip posted by the singer to Instagram, we see him sit down with his close friend and mentor to open up on his diagnosis, which he says is a of a form of liver disease.
“I have a liver disease, where my auto-immune system is fighting against itself. The reality is that I’m sick all the time. I don’t really like to talk about because I’m not looking for anybody’s sympathy.”
In the clip, he also talks about his well documented series of health scares over the past couple years, including his 2014 collapse on stage which landed him in the hospital in a coma for several days. Also his history of depression which he has spoken on before, is also covered. No word on when/where we will see the full sit down, but get into the teasers below.
Our prayers are with August as he fights his illness.
