Exciting news for Sherri Shepherd and her staff and crew, as her daytime talk show ‘Sherri‘ has just been greenlit for not one, but TWO more seasons at FOX.
Fox Television has picked up the Debmar- Mercury talker to extend through the 2024-2025 TV season.
The news comes as a major win for what started as a temporary fill-in role for Wendy Williams on her daytime talk show while she was battling health challenges during the 14th season of her show.
Sherri guest hosted for several months as fans awaited the return of Wendy before it was later announced that Wendy would not be returning and ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ was officially canceled by Debmar-Mercury and FOX and they would be focusing on launching Shepherd’s new talk show ‘Sherri.’
The freshman series kicked off in September and has been a rating winner for the network and became the No. 1 new nationally syndicated daytime talk show. which makes the renewal no surprise.
Sherri dished on her excitement surrounding the renewal.
“I launched this show with the mission to give daytime viewers a ‘good time,’ just like my theme song says,” she said. “I am so appreciative that Fox and Debmar-Mercury have partnered with me to continue bringing more laughter, joy and inspiration to my audience.”

Elsewhere, fellow freshman talk show ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ hosted by Jennifer Hudson has also been renewed for a second season at FOX.
Speaking on her renewal, Jennifer revealed:
“Working on this show alongside my incredible team and our amazing partners has been one of the greatest joys of my career,”
“We have been on this journey together from day one and I am so thrilled to take it to the next level,” she continued. “I could not be more grateful to audiences across America for letting me into their homes everyday as we empower and inspire one another. I can’t wait to show you what we have up our sleeves in season two!”

According to PEOPLE, the show became the no. 1 first-run series during its premiere week, Fox said. Its first season averaged a total of 5.2 million weekly viewers.
The series was the only new program nominated for a 2022 People’s Choice Award in the daytime talk show category. During the show’s freshman season, Hudson was also honored as one of PEOPLE Magazine’s “People of the Year” and one of Glamour‘s “Women of the Year.”
