The ‘A Star Is Born‘ remake is a box office success right now with Lady Gaga getting critical acclaim for her lead role in the film. However, it was not Gaga that was originally in talks to take the film to new heights.
Late singer/actress, Aaliyah was the original no. 1 pick for the film which has been in the works since 2000 according to previously confirmed reports from Jamie Foxx who had previously reached out to the ‘One In a Million’ singer to snag her for the role.
Beyonce was second in line to be considered but ultimately parted ways with the film before Gaga was established as the final choice.
Aaliyah was on the lips of many after her impressive film debut in ‘Romeo Must Die’ and ‘Queen of the Damned’ which was released after her untimely death. The singer was also set to star in sequel for the ‘Matrix’ before her death.
