Apollo Nida apparently isn’t having the best time in prison and due to a little trickery, was just moved to maximum security.
According to Radar Online, prison officials discovered in February that the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star had been using the forbidden phone to call friends and family from the Fort Dix Correctional Institute, where he was transferred late last fall to finish an eight-year sentence on fraud and theft charges.
“The prison staff took Apollo’s violation very seriously,” the Fort Dix source reported to Radar. “He was taken out of camp with the general population and placed in maximum security.”
As a result of the obvious violation, Apollo must now receive full body scans to ensure he doesn’t have anymore forbidden items during his time there.
The outlet also reports that despite Phaedra visiting him recently, she is not suspected of smuggling in the cell phone and was not questioned in the matter.
That’s not all, reportedly the other inmates are not feeling the former reality star, and claim that he has a huge ego and thinks his “celeb status” makes him better than the other prisoners.
“Apollo is not well-liked among the other prisoners because he thinks he’s still a famous reality star,” the source explains. “He wanted special treatment, and had a hard time adjusting to prison life.”
