In what comes as extremely shocking news, famed singer/songwriter/producer and former ‘Tamar & Vince’ star, LaShawn Daniels has reportedly died at the age of 41.

Although the story is developing, initial reports coming out on Wednesday (Sep.4) are suggesting that the famed hit-maker was killed in a fatal car accident. As of Thursday morning (Sep. 5) Daniels’ wife, April Daniels had confirmed the news.

In a statement released on Thursday via Instagram, his beloved wife confirmed that her husband had died in a car accident Tuesday in South Carolina.

Her statement read: ‘It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, family member and friend LaShawn Daniels, who was the victim of a fatal car accident in South Carolina.

‘A Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter, Daniels was a man of extraordinary faith and a pillar in our family.’

‘We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the continuous outpouring of love and sympathy.’

@bigshiz through your talent and through your music, you will always be a true communicator of God’s word with music that made an impact on the WORLD!!! My heart aches as I write this. Sorry I didn’t get a chance to see you when I visited but I understood… you were lending your hand to someone who needed you… as always. I stated before how I admired you and how together with your beautiful wife, April, you took your family away from the madness that is Hollywood! Concentrating your efforts on the lord and your family. You never let money, power, accolades and fame dictate who you are. A travesty we’ve witnessed some of the men and women embrace time and time again in this business. You and @bsladenow the first to guide and help me. I just gotta say… Thank you! God bless you and rest God’s arms. ????????❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

They don’t make em like @bigshiz! That’s the face you make when you’re legacy is not just about what you accomplish professionally but more importantly what you accomplish as a man. He was one of the best of us in every category you could think of. Pardon my human thoughts but there are so many people who don’t value life and make a mockery of what God has given but we have to lose him? A man who stood on principles, morals, spirituality, and the uplifting of the most high! What a man we have lost. What an example! What big shoes we have to fill! I’m lost.. I trust God but i’m concerned about this one. We needed him..?? #RIP

Lashawn, also known by his nickname “Big Shiz,” has penned hit singles such as Jennifer Lopez’s “If You Had My Love,” “Say My Name” and “Lose My Breath,” by Destiny’s Child as well as numerous hits for Brandy including “Full Moon”

He’s also penned hits for Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Toni Braxton, Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Spice Girls, Tamar Braxton, George Michael, Janet Jackson and more.

In 2000, Lashawn  won a Grammy for his songwriting on Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name.” In 2013, he was also nominated for a Grammy for his work on Tamar Braxton’s “Love and War.”

He and his wife were featured on WEtv’s ‘Tamar & Vince’, before ultimately parting ways with the show following some personal issues with Tamar and then husband, Vincent Herbert.

RIP!
