GRAMMY weekend festivities continue!
Following yesterday’s epic Roc Nation Brunch, the celebs headed on over to the annual Clive Davis Pre-GRAMMY Gala in Hollywood.
Like the brunch earlier that day, the annual Clive party was a list of whos who in music and entertainment.
There were many highlights of the night (which we’ll get into), but the most notable came via none other than Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs who was being honored with the Industry Icon award at the Gala.
During his acceptance speech, Diddy made sure to call out the recording academy for their long-standing issues with diversity and respect when it comes to black music and artists.
“I’m being honored by the industry that I love, the family that I love, but there’s an elephant in the room and it’s not just about the Grammys,”
“There’s discrimination and injustice everywhere.”
“Truth be told, hip-hop has never been respected by the Grammys, black music has never been respected by the Grammys to the point that it should be.”
“For years we’ve allowed institutions that have never had our best interests at heart to judge us, and that stops right now..”

Prior to his speech, which lasted almost an hour, Diddy and his children walked the red carpet and looked absolutely stunning. Others highlights were a performance by Faith Evans and Lil Kim on stage, as The Carters (Jay Z and Beyonce) can be seen rocking to in the audience.
Janet Jackson also made a surprise apperance as she was being honored by Clive, while Usher, Cardi B, Monica, Chance The Rapper and so many more were spotted in the building.
