It was announced months ago that the sequel to the beloved classic film ‘Coming To America‘ was getting an unexpected sequel after over 30 years since it’s debut.
It was also confirmed that original cast including Eddie Murphy and Aresenio Hall had officially signed on to return and reprise their roles as Prince Akeem and Semmi respectively.
Well on Monday (April 8) ‘Coming To America 2‘ landed another big time player, as Oscar Winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter has signed on to the project. The award winning designer just recently snagged the Oscar for her work on the cultural and world wide phenomenon that is ‘Black Panther.’
Ruth took to Instagram to share the news and details with an image of she and Eddie Murphy as she confirmed that the cast had begun preliminary costume fittings .
As previously confirmed, the plot of the sequel involves Akeem learning he has a long-lost son in America. He must go back to America to find his son and take him back home to become the next heir to the throne.
