The “Full House” reboot set to debut on Netflix next year has apparently sparked interest in studios to bring back some of the other classic TV sitcoms from the 90’s and now another fan fave may be headed back to TV screens.
E! has confirmed that a”Married With Children” reunion/spin off is on the way. Via E!:
The Bundys are baaack!
I can exclusively reveal that a Married With Children reunion is in the works.
David Faustino, who played Bud on the sitcom, says he’s developing a “spin-off” of the series.
“Sony has it. They’re excited about it,” Faustino told me last night at the premiere of his former co-star Christina Applegate‘s new comedy Vacation (in theaters tomorrow, July 29). “They’re working out some legal issues that we hope they work out.”
The best part?
“The whole cast, including Christina, is down to do little bits in it,” Faustino said, adding, “The idea would be a pilot for a spinoff. That’s all I can say right now. It involves me and few other people.”
The show, which ran for 11 seasons on Fox until 1997, centered around the very dysfunctional Bundy family with Ed O’Neill as shoe salesman Al and Katey Sagal as his wife Peggy.
“All of us have said we would all be there for [Faustino],” said Applegate, who played the Bundys’ daughter Kelly.
Asked what she thinks her character would be up to these day, Applegate said. “Kelly Bundy probably has like 10 kids. I’m sure of it.”
