Beyonce fans were riled up over the weekend when it was reported that the singer was lining up a major Las Vegas residency which is underway.
While the rumors went viral as we know Bey is the queen of surprises, now her reps are speaking out and say that the reports are completely false according to a statement they provided to Variety:
Beyonce is not doing a Las Vegas residency, her rep has confirmed to Variety.
Itâs âabsolutely not true,â the rep stated.
Rumors that Queen Bey would be hitting the strip began circulating Saturday after website LoveBScott posted a story citing âsourcesâ that said she would announce the residency in the first half of 2020. The report said the residency would have made Beyonce the highest-paid entertainer in the city.
The âLemonadeâ mastermind has performed in Vegas before, releasing the âI Am⌠Yours: An Intimate Performance at Wynn Las Vegasâ album, which was recorded over a few dates during her âI AmâŚâ world tour, in 2009.
The news had, predictably, gotten Beyonce fans riled up, with some claiming that there was no way the star would agree to a residency rather than releasing a new album and touring in support. Others felt that the mother of three might like the steadiness of a residency as opposed to a world tour.
Hopefully, this means fans can expect something else on the way, possibly the long-awaited Destiny’s Child reunion (which her team has not confirmed or denied).
