For months, Dr. Heavenly Kimes has been in the streets and online campaigning for her seat in Congress.
Fans of Kimes have been expecting to see the journey documented on the new season of ‘Married to Medicine‘ which had been filming most of the summer.
This week, Bravo unveiled the official cast announcement, photos, and premiere date and fans were surprised to find a major shakeup.
Heavenly, who has been a full-time cast member since season 2 is now listed as a friend of the show.
During a recent sitdown with Jamaal Bryant, Kimes is revealing that her Congress run is the reason behind Bravo demoting her, and explains why.
According to Heavenly, she was demoted because you’re not allowed to run for Congress or political office while working for Bravo. She revealed that it took eight weeks for Bravo to finalize her new contract — and considering the season only films for twelve weeks, that left very little time.
Bravo reportedly struggled to determine what they could and couldn’t air due to her campaign for Georgia House District 93. However, they came back with a decision that would allow her to remain on the show.
