R&B crooner Ginuwine is currently competing on the UK version of ‘Celebrity Big Brother‘ and after a recent episode the singer has set off a slight debate on social media about trans-phobia and heterosexual men dating trans-women.

In the latest episode, Ginuwine is engaging with housemate India Willoughby who is a trans-woman. During the scene, the two are engaging and he is even cuddled up with India on camera in a friendly way, as they discuss LGBT issues and dating. Ginuwine maintains a respectful position and clearly shows no homophobia or trans-phobia in any way. However, India is taken aback when she ponders if Ginuwine would date a trans-woman. “

You would date me, yeah,” Willoughby, asked. “Not if you were trans,” Ginuwine replied.

On social media, viewers took to Twitter to voice their various opinions with some saying Ginuwine’s unwillingness to date trans women is trans-phobic and bigoted, while some believe it is his preference. Get into the episode below, specifically at the 33:50 mark.
