Black History month is just around the corner and reportedly Nike is planning to celebrate the month by launching a black and white themed collection. The limited edition collection that includes 12 shoes, all featuring a black and white palette along with a line of apparel and accessory items for men and women will be available Jan. 24.
The line which features the Jordan brand is not cheap either with The Nike LeBron 12 in Black/Metallic Silver-White retailing for $220 and The Nike Kyrie 1 for $130.
Although some of the items are hot and it was a nice gesture there’s no mention of Nike giving any percentages of sales to any HBCU’s or other worthwhile organizations that would benefit the African American community, so basically they are just honoring themselves.
