Despite all that Mary J. Blige has been through in the past few months in her personal life, she will be rewarded for her hard work as a musical icon over two decades as it was just announced she will be receiving a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The ceremony will take place on Jan. 11 at 6201 Hollywood Blvd. in front of Eastown. Sean âDiddyâ Combs will join Hollywood Chamber president and CEO Leron Gubler to unveil the star.
âMary J. Blige is one of the most popular singers of our generation. Fans will be thrilled to see her star on the Boulevard as her career milestones are celebrated on this very famous sidewalk,â said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.
The Grammy Award-winning artist has recently been recognized for her acting work. Blige received Golden Globe Award, SAG Award, and Criticsâ Choice Award nominations for her role in Dee Reesâ period drama âMudbound,â as well as a Golden Globe nom for best original song for âMighty River.â
