It’s been a long hard road for Chris Brown and although the last few weeks have taken a drastic turn in his life with the breakup with his girlfriend Karrueche Tran and the revelation that he is the father of a nine month old girl, today brought some news that certainly is cause for the singer to rejoice. According to AP:
Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin ended Brown’s felony probation on Friday, more than six years after the R&B singer brutally attacked his then-girlfriend hours before the Grammy Awards.
Brandlin’s decision marks the first time since mid-2009 that Brown will not be under the supervision of court or probation officials. The singer initially avoided problems with the case, but since 2013 has struggled to complete his community service obligations and had his probation revoked in January after he performed a show in Northern California without permission.
Brown and his attorney Mark Geragos hugged in the courtroom and again in a courthouse elevator. After the hearing, he tweeted, “IM OFF PROBATION!!!!!!!! Thank the Lord!!!!!!”
His attorney also shared in the excitement”I couldn’t be more delighted,” Geragos said after the hearing.
“He is in a spot right now and a place right now that I couldn’t be prouder of him,” “a monumental feat for him.”
According to TMZ, the probation officer submitted a glowing report to the judge and was satisfied with his excuse for traveling to San Jose for a concert in January.
This week Chris also concluded his ‘Between The Sheets Tour’, which now gives the singer more time to spend with his new daughter. Congrats to Chris, we are looking forward to more great music and great things from him now that he has this mess finally behind him.
