It looks like Rihanna isn’t the only one planning to drop a surprise album this week. According to Billboard, J.Cole is also set to drop a new album on Friday (Jan 29) to coincide with his birthday. Via the outlet:
Thursday marks J. Cole‘s 30th birthday and in celebration the rapper is planning a surprise live release.
The album includes 13 tracks recorded live from Cole’s show last fall at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C., as featured in the HBO documentary Film Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming. All the songs are from 2014’s Grammy-nominated Forest Hills Drive with the exception of a medley featuring previous hits “Lights Please,” “In The Morning” and “Nobody’s Perfect.”
As of Wednesday (Jan. 27), a few select fans had already received the album as a hand-delivered gift:
