Janet Jackson made her surprise appearance at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday to present Mary J. Blige with her ICON Award, but prior to that the living legend/ICON celebrated her birthday with a few close friends and family.

Janet was spotted partying it up in Las Vegas over the weekend leading up to her BBMAs appearance. While Janet’s birthday wasn’t actually until today (May 16), the icon was spotted with her good friends, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, longtime friend, and creative director Gil, as well as Usher, Brian Michael Cox, Silk Sonic, Maxwell, her ex, Jermaine Dupri, and more.
