Congratulations are in order for Hip Hop’s original and one and only Queen Bee-Lil Kim. It was announced on Thursday (Sep. 26) that the Hip Hop royal will be honored with the 2019 I Am Hip Hop award at the ‘BET Hip Hop Awards‘ which will film in a matter of days.
The news comes at a great moment for Kim as she is gearing up to release her fifth studio album ‘9’ this fall via Queen Bee Entertainment/Entertainment One. She’s also slated to drop the lead single ‘Found You‘ on Friday as we previously told you.
The network states that they will be “celebrating the Queen Bee’s music, legacy, and impact” at the award show. Previous honorees of this award include KRS One, Russell Simmons, Salt N Papa, Ice Cube, Doug E. Fresh, MC Lyte and Lil Wayne to name a few.
Kim took to social media to confirm the news and thank her fans.
