Its been a tough few months for Mariah Carey, after debuting her new single ‘Beautiful’ with Miguel back in the spring, the release of its housing album was initially set for July but then suddenly stalled. Then Mariah sustained a serious injury to her shoulder on set while filming a music video. Apparently the stress of all of these setbacks have gotten to Mariah, and prompted her to address them. In an open letter published on her official Facebook page on Friday night Mimi touched on all these subjects. Check out what she had to say below.
Hiiii lambs!!
Iâm so happy to be able to catch up with everybody here on Facebook. The last three months of my life have not been easy. Getting through this injury has been the toughest experience of my life. It took me three months to get to this point but thank God I was able to recover and get my arm back. Itâs a huge deal, it should have taken eight months and even my doctors canât believe it. Itâs been a long journey, the physical therapists have been incredible and I am very grateful to all of them for helping me.
When people expected me to go âHere I am, Iâm back and everythingâs great!â, it didnât happen because my hand was still in tremendous pain and it took this long for it to heal. Iâve been working day and night, and it took a lot of rest (though I did sneak in to the studio a couple oâ times!) but I can finally say that I am on my way to a full recovery.
Thereâs a lot of excitement that Iâm going to reveal to you very soon, and sooner than you know it, youâre going to understand why but more than that, youâre going to feel what Iâve been feeling for the past- not three months- but three years.
This is, to me, one of the most important albums Iâve ever made in my life. If youâre a lamb, a fan, or just a human being that needs to feel good, happy, sad, miserable, joyous⊠âI gotchaâ (said like Roc- you havenât heard how he says it yet but you will soon, itâs a complete+total classic!)
LYM!!!! âMC
