Earlier today, it was announced that Beyoncé had curated and executive produced the brand new album, ‘The Lion King: The Gift‘ due July 19 to coincide with Disney’s live-action film.
As expected she also contributes her own new music, but also features some of her favorite artists along with today’s top African acts on the project.
The first single from the project, ‘Spirit‘ has arrived on Wednesday (July 10) as promised; and is an uplifting anthem written by IIya Salmanzadeh, Timothy McKenzie, and Beyoncé, and produced by Beyoncé, IIya, and Labrinth.
The song appears in the film as well during a major scene with Beyoncé’s character, Nala. Get into the track below.
