Despite the fact that Kelly Rowland had a great first season of her docu-series ‘Chasing Destiny,’ and successfully pieced together her girl group, June’s Diary, it looks as though BET has opted to not renew the show for a second season.
According to The Jasmine Brand, the groups creative director, Frank Gatson revealed that the ladies are in search of a hit song, and are seeking submissions from songwriters & producers.
We must find a hit song. Send one if you have it. A lot of people don’t know who June’s Diary Is.
He also announced that although the girls are still together and are currently on tour with R. Kelly, that BET has decided to cancel the series. The news comes ahead of season 2, which was set to chronicle the girls as they toured, crafted their debut album, and continued artist development & media training. Get into Frank’s post below.
Here’s hoping the girls have a promising 2017 and find a song and album, that will take them to the next level without the visibility of the show.
