Patti Labelle has had the best week ever and likewise possibly the worst week ever. Following the viral video that shot her now world famous sweet potato pies to the top of Walmart sales records and sold millions, she received a little backlash as well.
After the skyrocket sales of the pies, Patti received a lot of flack from folks who thought that she owed James Wright (the man who single-handedly made them an overnight sensation) more credit for his part in making the pies go viral. Patti however revealed to TMZ when she was caught by her cameras that she felt otherwise and claimed that the pies were selling out before James made his video.
Well on Monday (Nov 23) Patti stopped by “The Breakfast Club” to talk about the pies and revealed the reason why they have not been able to restock the shelves at Walmart…they can’t find the particular sweet potato that she prefers for the recipe.
Charlamagne and the gang stayed away from the controversy but they dished on whether she would work with some of today’s acts, and she says she would work with Fetty Wap or as she calls him “the boy with one eye”. She also dished on staying relevant to the youth, that infamous viral video where she kicked the stripping fan off stage months ago and more. Get into the full interview below.
