ABC is premiering its new Brandy, Eve, Naturi Naughton, and Nadine Velazquez led series ‘Queens‘ next week and the highly anticipated drama will center around their four characters who were a group of rappers who rose to fame in the 90s before disbanding and now reuniting over 20 years later.
To coincide with the series, ABC is airing a one-hour special about the women of Hop-Hop titled ‘Real Queens of Hip-Hop: The Women Who Changed The Game,’ set to air next Monday (Oct. 18) at 10 p.m ET.
The special will be narrated by Salt of legendary rap group Salt-N-Pepa and will include an original spoken word performance by rap icon MC Lyte as they detail the role of women in the birth and growth of Hip-Hop.
The special will also include interviews with pioneers like MC Sha-Rock and Roxanne Shanté, as well as current superstars like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and City Girls, taking viewers on a chronological journey while highlighting the personal struggles and triumphs that the ladies have experienced in their respective careers.
Queen Latifah, Monie Love, Lil Kim, Da Brat, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, Eve, Trina, Nicki Minaj, and many more will be featured and profiled. Get into the trailer below.
