After several weeks, the highly publicized trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has come to a close as the jury delivered the verdict on Wednesday, July 2.
The entertainment mogul has been found guilty on two of the lesser charges of transportation for prostitution, while he was not found guilty on the other 3 charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering.
The 55-year-old faced five counts: racketeering conspiracy (1), transportation to engage in prostitution (2), and sex trafficking (2).
Diddy pleaded not guilty to all charges, and a jury returned a not guilty verdict on sex trafficking and racketeering which carried the minimum sentences of 15 years each.
As a result, Diddy now only faces up to 10 years in prison. Combs’ attorney Marc Agnifilo asked the court to release Combs from federal detention, where he has been for nearly a year.
Now that Combs is no longer charged with sex trafficking, Agnifilo asked that he be released on conditions to his home in Miami and offered a $1 million bond, according to NBC News.
