We just told you yesterday that it was reported that Rosie O’ Donnell would be returning to ‘The View’ for season 18. The vet actress and comedian co-hosted the show from 2006-2007 before abruptly leaving after getting into a heated debate with then fellow co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck who eventually left the show.
Well despite both appearing to have made amends and being civilized during the Barbara Walters farewell episode of ‘The View’ weeks ago where all former host appeared, now Elisabeth is taking shots at Rosie, courtesy of who else? Fox News.
According to ETOnline:
Hasselbeck, who said she was currently on a “staycation” with her kids, didn’t mince words.
“What could ruin a vacation more than to hear news like this?” she said. “Talk about not securing the border. Here comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there.”
She also claimed that O’Donnell’s return to the hit ABC was “in the works for a long time.”
“She walked around with a lot of control [at The View reunion show] and when I got a chance to talk with her, Rosie herself told me on set while we were mic’d up that she produced the reunion show to have everybody together and it was her idea,” she alleged. “Would you think that the women who left the way that she did would be producing Barbara Walters’ goodbye show? Now here’s the shocker, it was actually her ‘Hello’ show.”
Hasselbeck also had this advice for O’Donnell Wednesday — don’t mess with Whoopi Goldberg.
Hasselbeck quipped, “I don’t think it would be wise for Rosie O’Donnell to challenge Whoopi Goldberg on anything.”
