We just told you days ago that Lil Kim is set to take the stage with Missy Elliott, and Da Brat at the upcoming ‘Soul Train Awards’ to bring their 1996 single ‘Not Tonight (Remix)’ aka Ladies Night back to life during the show’s tribute to Kool & The Gang.
It’s being reported that Angie Martinez who also rapped on the song had a previous engagement and could not participate, but what about Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes’ verse? We speculated that there would be an image display of Lisa playing on stage but never did we think of one of her TLC sisters doing her part.
When a fan on Twitter reached out to Kim suggesting that she should tap T-Boz and Chilli for the performance to pay homage to their sister, T-Boz tweeted back with a response that if possible would have been epic. The ‘No Scrubs’ singer revealed that she indeed was slated to take the stage in place of Lisa but that she had a previous engagement and could not get out of it.
It will be interesting to see how Kim and the show’s producers incorporate Left Eye into the performance, just as long as its no hologram!
