Lil Wayne came under fire last week after an interview he did for ABC’s ‘Nightline‘ aired in which he said he didn’t feel connected with the Black Lives Matter movement, and that basically he wants nothing to do with it because it doesn’t affect his life.
He also insinuated that he doesn’t believe in the movement or that their is so much racial tension in the world because he doesn’t experience it since he is a black rapper who performs to white audiences often.
As expected, the backlash came swiftly and reigned down strong, prompting Wayne to issue an instant apology, but at that point the damage was already done. Many of his fans, peers and the black community as at large were very turned off by his insensitive, selfish and delusional statements. Well now one of his good friends, T.I. is speaking out, and he is NOT here for Wayne and his behavior.
In a lengthy Instagram post shared early Sunday (Nov. 6), the rapper posted a clip of himself watching Wayne’s interview and alongside it comes a very direct lecture at Wayne.

Our daughters grew up together practically. Reginae’ spent countless times at my house with Niq-Niq when you were in prison & you extended my daughter the same courtesy when I was in the same position. Our relationship outside of music is what makes me sensitive to your disposition. I KNOW you wired a bit different than most other responsible adults, but still nigga U TRIPPING!!!!
