After previously revealing that new music was on the way, and teasing a reunion with one of her day one producers, the singer has dropped new music on Friday (April 18).
Tamar returns with what she’s dubbing a new anthem for the ladies, “You On You” and it serves as the first taste of her forthcoming EP, set for release this summer.
The single also serves as a reunion with legendary producer, Tricky Stewart. The duo have a long-standing collaborative history, dating back to The Braxtons’ debut album, So Many Ways, in 1996, where Stewart contributed to several tracks.
Stewart later served as the executive producer and co-writer/producer for Tamar’s debut solo album, ‘Tamar,’ in 2000. They two also collaborated on Tamar’s 2013 album, ‘Love & War’
Speaking on the new track, Tamar revealed:
“My new single is about embracing the strength it takes to use your voice in any relationship that isn’t serving your best interest. I am thrilled to have teamed up with my label partner, Platform Sounds, again. I pray I make all my Tamartians proud!”
