Things got very real, and very emotional quickly on Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Wendy Williams Show‘ when the generally fun, light hearted, and shade filled host got emotional and fought to hold back tears.
A Wendy watcher by the name of Martyn Hett, was set to be an audience member on Monday and Tuesday of this week, and Wendy’s staff were anticipating his arrival. The fan wrote to them over a year ago, as he was saving up to come to New York to see Wendy live. Although the tickets to her show are free, he wanted to come to New York and make it an amazing trip.
Well Hett was one of the 22 people that was killed in last weeks Manchester bombings at the Ariana Grande concert. Wendy’s cameraman panned to an empty chair in the audience as she revealed to the audience why the seat was empty.
“Martyn was supposed to be in our Wendy audience yesterday and today. He saved for two years to have a fabulous time in New York and come to our show. He called it a trip of a lifetime on his social media,” Williams explained to her viewers. “He’s remembered as a man who loved life, like all my people, who loved life with passion, courage and laughter.”
