When a legend speaks, you listen!
That’s exactly what happened today when Teddy Riley stopped by Sherri and gave us a masterclass in music history, legacy, and longevity.
The musical mastermind came through to talk about his new memoir, Remember the Times, and if you know anything about his résumé, you already know this book is going to be full of moments. He shared that the memoir dives deep into his journey — the highs, the lessons, the behind-the-scenes stories that shaped not just his career, but the sound of an entire era.
Teddy talked about working with Bobby Brown and helping craft that game-changing solo sound that defined late ’80s R&B. He reflected on collaborating with Michael Jackson, especially producing “Remember the Time” and the Dangerous album— and how MJ’s precision and work ethic pushed everybody in the room to another level.
Of course, you can’t talk Teddy without talking Guy and the whole New Jack Swing movement. He reminisced about those early days, and where he stands with his former members now.
But Teddy isn’t just looking back. He’s currently back on the road with Guy 2.0, bringing that nostalgic energy to fans who still know every word. He also dropped a major tease that he is set to work with Usher and Chris Brown on new music.
