Beyonce‘s mother Tina Lawson has no time for social media trolls and folks who are questioning Beyonce’s departure from Sunday’s BET Awards. Following her epic performance of “Freedom” with Kendrick Lamar at the top of the show, Bey had to hop on a plane to head to London to prepare for her next tour date, leaving Mama Tina at the show to accept her awards on her behalf.
Many took to social media to call out Tina and Bey and imply that Bey’s next date was not scheduled until later this week, so there was no reason for her to leave the show. Naturally, some claimed Bey didn’t want to do the show in the first place, and took the opportunity to discredit the show as an afterthought for Bey.
Well Tina is not here for it and took to social media to clap back, not on Bey’s behalf but as she states from her own mouth. She clarified that Bey even came out of her own pocket, booking a private plane and making accommodations to ensure she, her dancers and team were at the show, despite the fact that it would impede her existing schedule, but she wanted to make BET a priority.
