
Tweet has several reasons to celebrate, as some major news has been announced that is sure to please her fans.
23 years after its release, her debut album ‘Southern Hummingbird’ just hit a major milestone.
The critically acclaimed album which was released April 2, 2002 has officially sold over 1 million units in the US—and reached certified platinum status.
Tweet took to social media ahead of the weekend to celebrate the news of the platinum certification.
The news comes just days after it was revealed that she has inked a deal with SRG-ILS Group joining the label that includes Lalah Hathaway, Johnny Gill, and Keke Palmer, to name a few.
“Everyone at SRG/ILS is very excited about this project, which is the legitimate follow-up to the amazing platinum-selling album Southern Hummingbird. The signing also comes with news that her fourth album, ‘The Memoirs of The Southern Hummingbird,’ will be released this fall.
Ahead of the album’s release, Tweet will drop a reimagined version of her 2010 track “Love Again” on Sept. 11. Then, on Sept. 26, she will unleash the official lead single, “Toot-Toot” according to Rated R&B.
